About me

My name is Ivan Marote and I was born in Valle de Finolledo (Spain) in 1984. I received the Telecommunication Engineering degree in 2008 and the M.Sc. in Applications of Signal Processing in 2011; both degrees were obtained from the University of Vigo, Spain.

In January 2009, I started my professional career working as researcher for the Galician Research & Development Center in Advanced Telecommunications (Gradiant). Since January 2010 to March 2013, I have been part of the Signal Processing in Communications Group (GPSC) of the University of Vigo.
During those four years, the main role I carried out was related with the study and simulation of the physical layer for DVB standards, covering different propagation environments such as cable (DVB-C2), terrestrial (DVB-T/T2) and satellite (DVB-S2/DVB-SH). This task helped in the design and implementation of several hardware prototypes for Galician broadcasters.

In May 2013, I join Alten to work for Technicolor as Customer Set-Top-Box (STB) Integration & Validation engineer. With this job, I strengthen my digital TV experience, adopting resposibilities in bug tracking, test bench monitoring and STB SW lifecycle management.

After 3 years working in Alten, in August 2016 I start my career as freelance. New stage in my professional life but with lot of motivation. I continue working with STBs.
